The Valdez Residence was inspired by the many wonderfully simple A Frame structures around Summit County. With a growing family, modification to this classic building would have to be made to accommodate the family’s needs. Conceptually, the A Frame structure was lifted and placed on a CMU block base and a solar room was added to the south to reduce energy cost. On the north side, a cedar box was attached with a roof top deck to capture the mountain views to the west.
